About Us
From the ground up. Films that move people.

About us
We’re Fresh Ground Films — a small, experienced team making cinematic films that move people.
We work with good people doing meaningful work — in healthcare, education, and the environment — helping them connect with their audiences in a way that feels honest and human.
Clarity, care, and creative storytelling that actually lands.
HOW WE WORK
Listen. Plan. Make. Learn.
We start by tuning in — to your story, your people, and what matters.
Then we plan the simplest path to something meaningful.
We make it — calmly, creatively, and with care.
And we learn — from how it lands, from you, and from the process.
The result? Films that connect emotionally, land clearly, and get shared for all the right reasons.

OUR APPROACH
We keep things light — small crew, fast turnaround, always thinking ahead.
You’ll work directly with the people making the film. And we don’t just show up and shoot — we ask questions, stay flexible, and stick with you all the way through.
Human-led filmmaking. Delivered with ease.

WHO WE ARE
Fresh Ground Films is led by Ross Gill, a filmmaker and creative director with over 15 years’ experience delivering films for the University of Exeter, Devon Partnership NHS Trust, Ambios and others.
We’ve built a reputation for natural, considered filmmaking — with a strategic mindset and a focus on long-term relationships.

WHY IT WORKS
We stay small by design — bringing focus, flexibility and care to every project.
We’re easy to work with, clear on process, and committed to quality.
That’s why most of our work comes through referrals and repeat clients.

Let’s make something that moves people
Whether you’re in Exeter, the South West or beyond — if your work’s making a difference, we’d love to help it connect.
Seen. Heard. Felt. Shared.
Let’s grab a coffee for an initial phone or zoom call.
We’re always happy to chat—whether you’ve got a project in mind or just want to explore ideas. No sales talk. Just a relaxed conversation about what’s possible.
